Hello Friends, Family, and Anyone who decided to tune into my travel blog!
Traveling is one of the greatest gifts I've been given in my, almost, twenty-one years of life. I've had the opportunity to travel within the United States, visit Montreal and Quebec in Canada, and even venture down to Costa Rica for a service trip in high school. That's where I was bitten by the exhilarating, wallet eating 'Travel Bug', and my hunger for exploration has only grown ever since, I feel as if I'm about to starve. Luckily, an amazing opportunity jumped out in front of me, and reached for it, as if I was diving across the thanksgiving dinner table for the last slice of pie.
Will there be a lot of food puns/jokes/metaphors through out my posts? Most certainly.
As everyone should know, I am about to leave for a semester abroad in Copenhagen (for those of you who are not the best at geography, myself included, Copenhagen is in Denmark, one of the Scandinavian countries in Northern Europe), studying architecture and urban design, along with bettering my travel writing (so that my blog ends up being entertaining and interesting) and watercolor painting skills. I am incredibly excited to experience a new country, new continent, and new way of life, and will be shamelessly emptying my wallet as I explore different countries, try different foods, and meet new people.

I LEAVE IN THREE DAYS!!!
In three days, I will be boarding a plane out of Logan Airport, departing from the US for a whole four months! As much as I'm going to miss my friends and family in Northampton and at Wheaton College, I'm excited to see what this adventure brings me!
As I study, travel, walk, learn and eat my way through the fall semester, I will be trying to update this blog once or twice a week to share all of my adventures with all of the friends and family who matter most to me (if you're reading this, thats you!) back at home. Unfortunately, I can't promise you two posts a week, as I expect to be very busy, but I can promise you one very good one.
Full disclosure, I will be taking a majority of my pictures on my camera, which is, unfortunately, having some slight difficulties connecting to my computer, so most of the pictures you see on this blog will probably be lesser quality ones fro my phone. But bare with me, I'm trying to figure out the problem so I can upload the nice pictures of my friends, architecture, touristy sites, and most importantly, food.
Some Important Things To Know...
I will NOT be reachable through text to my current phone number after THIS FRIDAY, AUGUST 16TH. However, you will be able to reach me through WhatsApp, as well as other forms of social media (Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook). You can always drop me an email as well if you need to be in touch, I believe you will also be able to call me, but I'm still looking into that.
If you wish to send me things while I'm abroad, which is 100% optional and not necessary, I will send you my address through email.
This concludes my very first blog post! Thank you to everyone who has decided to join me from afar on my four month journey to Europe! Know that I will miss all of you while I'm away and that I will be thinking of you!
Make sure you check out my art instagram account @LILARTLY_ to see the work I'm doing abroad, and for those who follow my personal account, @LILLY_ETL I will be posting more pictures there too!
Stay tuned for my next blog post from Copenhagen! As always, leave a like and/or comment!
Saving room for the food,
Lilly
